give thanks // photography // 12 days of thanksgiving tag

Thank you, Sarah, for tagging me for the 12 days of Thanksgiving! I know it's after Thanksgiving itself, but I thought I could show you some of my photos from the big day in this post.

~ Rules ~

1. List 12 things that you are thankful for
2. Tag as many bloggers as you want, making sure to tell them of their nominations

I'm going to be giving less generic answers here... so just know that I am thankful for God, my home, and my family :)

one

the smell of cinnamon rolls on sunday morning

two

the light of the sun's morning rays streaming through my window

three

handwritten letters by caring friends

four

little white lacy dresses

 five

warm knit sweaters in the wintertime

six

listening to gentle instrumental music while blogging

seven

steaming hot tea in my favorite blue round cup

eight

long walks in the cool winter air with my dad

nine

twinkling white stars in a deep blue sky

ten

a layer of frost on the dull green grass

eleven

wrapping up in warm blankets for long car drives

twelve

fuzzy boots that act as slippers around cold feet

I tag the following...

Maggie Rice from Traveling Home

Thank again to Sarah for tagging me! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving :) Maybe later I'll do a post of the other photos I took on our trip to the Thanksgiving table. There was a lot of good scenery.

Remember to thank God for the little things in life, and to give thanks with a grateful heart.

Sincerely,
Darrion

the moon // fear, love, reach

many fear the night

while others love the stars too much to fear

and the those who remain reach for the moon

again // without her

alone

again

but not technically

a room full of people

smiling

joking

laughing

but without her

 she knew their faces

but who knew hers?

smiling

joking

laughing

right next to her

but without her

again

she took a moment to breathe

to be content with just herself

smiling

but nobody sees

joking

but nobody responds

laughing

but nobody hears

it's okay

there will be other days

other people

other times

alone

again

but that's okay

there will be times

without her

sincerely,
darrion

p.s., this one is a little depressing... sorry about that. we just got back from vacation to california, so i went scrambling through blog drafts for something to post, and found this. i've just been trying to think of how i sometimes feel in a different way, to pass the time. back to the usual stuff later :)

the sun // today is going to be a good day

the sun

the sun that peeks through your curtains to wake you and whisper

today is going to be a good day

no matter what they say

no matter what they think

today is going to be a good day

the day passes

the sun always watching you from above

its rays of shining light keeping you in a warm hug all day long

do you ever look up?

do you ever thank the one who made that shining ball of gasses keeping us alive?

look up into the beaming smile above you

ask

pray

please make this day a good day

and when it is not

and the moon holds the place of that light

wake to find it whispering

today doesn't have to be a good day

sincerely,
darrion
